Because she deserves it
Here is a great idea for a quick and extremely easy dessert. It’s simply perfect for any occasion. From a romantic dinner next to a glass of champagne, to a fun kids’ party. From a last-minutes dinner for guests, to a breakfast in bed for your amazing mom on Mother’s Day (… or ANY day really!)
How can you say no to something that looks this good? Elegant and pretty. Yet, easy and oh-so delicious.
All you need are flavorful strawberries and good quality chocolate. As I say all the time, the result can only be as good as the ingredients you’re using. And this time, with so few ingredients, quality is even more important.
Even if this recipe is super simple, there are a few things to keep in mind when preparing these strawberries.
First, make sure to completely dry the strawberries after you wash them. If they are even a little wet, the chocolate will not properly stick.
As you can see from my pictures, I used long stem strawberries. I found them at the farmers’ market – sweet and simply perfect for dipping. The long stem makes it easier to hold and swirl them in the melted chocolate. But if you can’t find any strawberries with long stem, regular work just as well. You might get your fingers messy with chocolate … like that’s a big problem, right?!?
One last thing before you rush to the kitchen to try this out. When you melt the chocolate make sure to not overheat it, or it might start to separate and harden. So when warming it up, mix well and wait to see if all the pieces of chocolate are melted, before heating it up some more. Don’t be too fast in adding seconds to the microwave, or you might end up ruining some perfectly good chocolate!
