Nerdz, a computer repair store at 1902 Brownsville Rd. in Carrick, was reportedly closed on Aug. 8 for not enforcing social distancing among its customers and for failing to display clear markings. Additionally, the business was ordered a cease and desists for all food-related activities as it was found to be operating without a valid health permit. The health department also said the store had a carbon monoxide hazard and was sponsoring “after-hours” gatherings. Nerdz did not respond to requests for comment as of publication.

Also on Aug. 8, the health department cited and closed Seven, a downtown nightclub and restaurant located at 130 7th Street, for Covid-related violations which allegedly included an exceedance of more than 25 people inside the business, customers being permitted to sit at a bar, offering seated indoor service after 11 p.m. and allowing for the consumption of alcoholic beverages without a meal. Seven did not respond to requests for comment as of publication.
